My main inspiration for the project was classic video game soundtracks from the Playstation/Playstation 2 era. I made most of the tracks short with fade outs so they could be looped endlessly.

I visited Japan in late 2023 and it was the trip of a lifetime. I think my experiences on the trip informed a lot of the feelings and emotions I was trying to convey with these tracks.

I was struggling for a long time to make any solo music but then around Christmas 2023 I had a burst of creativity and this album came together pretty quickly.

Outside of video game soundtracks I was also listening to a bunch of other types of music which definitely influenced my creative process - ambient, more electronic sounding shoegaze, city pop and dub techno.
